The citizens of the 5th District are incredibly fortunate to have such a knowledgeable, bright and hard working candidate running for County Supervisor.

Michael Beck officially announced his endorsement of Jacqueline Arsivaud for District 5, San Diego County Board of Supervisors. Michael Beck has spent the past 26 years fighting to conserve open space and biologically rich habitat, as President of the Endangered Habitats Conservancy and also as San Diego County Planning Commissioner.  A decade ago, Beck and Arsivaud teamed up to oppose a project that would have destroyed more than a hundred acres of threatened habitat in the unincorporated County. Arsivaud created a non-profit that brought the County, the environmentalists and the developer itself to the table which ultimately resulted in permanent conservation of this vital habitat.  For the last 13 years Arsivaud has been immersed in the land use battles in the unincorporated communities, as the chair of the Elfin Forest/Harmony Grove Town Council and an elected member of the San Dieguito Planning Group.

Beck noted that “Jacqueline has spent countless volunteer hours working on environmental preservation, land use and community issues. She embraces challenge and knows how to get things done.”

Having spent two decades in the tech industry, including stints at Fortune 100 companies and creating successful tech startups, she has the executive-level, managerial experience and high-level decision making that a supervisor needs to run a $6 Billion organization with 20,000 employees.  Beck also stated, “her energy, commitment, and intelligence will prove to be an invaluable asset to the citizens of the 5th District and the County of San Diego.”

Beck added “Jacqueline has my strongest endorsement.”

Other notable endorsements include: Pam Slater-Price, former Supervisor, San Diego County; Jerry Harmon, former Mayor of Escondido; George Courser, conservation chair, Sierra Club; Dan Silver, Executive Director of Endangered Habitats League; Eric Anderson former president of San Diego Farm Bureau,  among numerous others.
